We found this massive majolica (fruit?) bowl in a friend's basement. Unmarked, it is most likely from Portugal or Italy where this ceramic glazing technique is common. Majolica is traditionally over-the-top-ornate with pattern and plot, so it's refreshing (and rare) to see such a simplistic squiggle motif. The cat creeper did eventually end up in the bowl, but we missed this magical moment as the camera was already packed up.
