Back in November I visited Saachi Gallery, an insanely beautiful space in London, England, and was captivated by both the architecture of the building and a painting by Russian artist Lydia Masterkova. This work was included, along-side a series of her paintings, during the group exhibition Breaking The Ice: Moscow Art, 1960-80s. Featured here are detailed images of Abstract Composition, 1962, oil on canvas and abstracts of the gallery.
"It is important that one's work be filled with profound feelings, even something secret that beckons onward. It is important that the soul of the artist be alive in the work".
-Masterkova, 1927-2008
