There is very little information on the English internet about this prolific Swedish lighting designer. Hans-Agne Jakobsson was born in 1919 in Markaryd Sweden, living to the ripe old age of 90. He founded the Hans-Agne Jakobsson lighting company in 1951, and created an incredible number of original designs. I first experienced the warm glow of one of Jakobsson's wood veneer ceiling fixtures (pictured below) in a cottage on Georgian Bay. 7 such fixtures lent a Scandinavian sophistication to many a night of carousing. Next to candlelight, nothing is finer. The pictured lights are some of my favourites of Jakobsson's, quietly adding both style and the perfect cast of light to any room.
