This is one of my favourite Toronto interiors and before Google Images I spent many hours here, rifling through the picture files. I'm glad to see that the core aesthetic hasn't changed since the recent revitalization project. Designed by Raymond Moriyama and built in 1977 (a good year), the organic shapes and earth-tone shades are both comforting and elegant. Working in this library you straighten up, feel curious and more respectful of fellow researchers. The internet failed us last week when trying to find information on Jigger Jolly machines. The Toronto Reference Library had all the answers and asserted itself as still relevant.
