GREAT GRANDMOTHER GRACE'S VASE

This vase was owned by Grace Geraldine McArthur Radley. Its provenance is unknown but Grace's living descendents believe it might have been gifted to her by a church missionary group in Manitoba in the 1930's.  The vase was left to Grace's daughter, Edith Radley, at the time of Grace's death in 1974.  When Edith, who had never had any children of her own, passed away in 1996, her belongings were divided between her 14 nieces and nephews.  No one wanted the yellow-green glass vase but it caught the eye of Edith's great-niece, who happened to be present when the belongings were being dispersed. Allison Black saved the vase from being donated to the Salvation Army, took it home, where it eventually inspired a whole collection of glass vases--though it remains the most valued piece in her collection.
