Christy Langer creates beautifully sensitive yet disturbing sculptures and paintings of animals, fish, and insects. Her work hints at forgotten myths and archetypal dreams. The lifelike quality of the pieces, slightly skewed, can jar you from your reality and send you tumbling into another. Langer currently has work in a group exhibition, Makin' It Natural, at Mulherin Pollard Projects in Manhattan. Curated by Katharine Mulherin, the show runs through to January 28th.
