A few weeks back we visited a beautifully built cottage/home/retreat near Georgian Bay. We were lucky to meet one of the builders, living close by in another home he constructed. Here you see his chainsaw mill. With a well stocked forest near by, the mill was the only thing preventing full self sufficiency. Logs are felled, chained up and driven by tractor the short distance. The oversized chainsaw has been rigged to split the wood on a dolly-like apparatus. The boards are then dried in the nearby tent, ready for the next big build.
