We just got back from Buffalo where we spent the weekend exploring. One of our stops was Gothic City Antiques:
masonic temple turned architectural storehouse and stop-over for the detritus of life. Located in a derelict part
of town, the yard is full of choice bathtubs, sinks and garden features. The price however does not match the snow-covered
condition of the goods. For example, the
vintage Crane sink that I purchased elsewhere for $40, was selling for
$175. Inside the building, a dichotomy between
conditions (cold and cluttered) and price point continues.
However, it is worth a visit if you are looking for a bit of a rummage in an incredibly
strange building. We feel no twinges of regret at leaving it all behind state lines.
